Barcode scanners typically work in the NIR and IR range.A light signal is generated by LED and the reflected part is detected by a sensor and evaluated accordingly. Optical filters suppress "ambient light" effects and ensure that only the desired spectrum with the signal to be transmitted reaches the receiver. In addition, the angle dependence, which typically causes a wavelength shift, must be limited by these filters.
