Hyperspectral imaging (HSI) allows to collect images from the same spatial area but with thousands of different wavelengths. According to the quality of the optical system and the chosen wavelength range, a high amount of data are acquired. With each wavelength a unique information is collected. Materion Balzers Optics is a manufacture of thin film coated optical filters, especially suited to the HSI application. Independent of handheld device system, cameras mounted on drones or via a low orbit space vehicle, the quality of the collected data are based on the quality of the optical components are used. The sputtering coating technology of the HSI Filters offers long lifetime and a high-level spectral accuracy for BP-Filters, Multi-Bandpass-Filters and also Linear Variable Filter, independently if this is made as an BP-Filter style of combined by Longpas - and Shortpass-Filters.
