Polarizing Beamsplitters (PBS)

Projection systems based on reflective light valves are driving the need for advanced polarizing beamsplitter (PBS) cubes.

Materion Balzers Optics has recently developed a cost-effective, high-volume manufacturing process for the production of PBS with small physical dimensions. Besides custom-designed beamsplitter coatings, additional optical coatings (e.g. anti-reflective, black chrome) can be applied to individual faces of the PBS. The patterning of selective coatings completes the customer specific PBS portfolio from Materion Balzers Optics.
